I need to extract from that list all the Fridays.
Is it possible to sort the list into the days of the week ?

It's as if the cell were formatted for text, but it is formatted for numbers
(or date).  When I go through the formula function (rather than straight
entering), I can see in the formula function dialogue box the desired result
- just can't get it in the cell!

I need to keep a fixed field width for a file that I am importing into
another program.  The other program will only except a certain format.  Each
field needs to have a specific number of characters and if the values are
less than that number we need to right justify and zero ...

I have a spreadsheet with property names, months and rents lay out
