I have a spreadsheet which calculates school term bills for children attending a before and after school club dependent on their attendance patterns. It also records payments which may be regular or intermittent and calculates the amounts owed.

I have created sub-totals on a worksheet, but for some reason the outline that typically shows up is not working. The sub-total lines were inserted, but the grouping did not. Is this a set-up or a program issue?

The formula written as =IF('Boiler 3'!$M$15<>"",'Boiler 3'!$M$15,"") does not display the result in the cell even after switching the sheet between formula and value (ctrl `). This same formula works in other areas of the same worksheet.

How can I recognize the first 2 letters in a cell using formulas? I want to be able to recognize cells which contain certain initials from employees. Example would be if C1=SS Glass, C2=AF Metal and C3=SS Paper, I need to know that SS had 2 entries.
