How do I change the default pointer from a cross to an
arrow (or whatever else might be available)?  My mouse
setting in control panel is for default arrow pointer,
which appears in other applications.

I have column A, Row 2 which has the date 4/1/04 in it.
In column B, Row two, there is a blank cell for a description to be added
I have this cell WORD-WRAPPED so it can grow to show the entire description.

Receive "disk full" error message while trying to save/close several
files that are open simultaneously.  Have more than enough free space
on hard drive and have also deleted tmp files.  I am using Office XP

I have a column with mm/dd/yy formatted for dates. When I
sort by that column, it will sort by Jan-Dec 2004, then
Jan-Dec 2003. I want it to do it by Jan 2004-Dec2003...how

Can anyone suggest a way of formatting a cell so that when it prints it has
a diagonal line from the bottom left corner to the top right, effectively
splitting the cell into 2 triangles!

Long-time lurker here.
On a regular basis, I need to import large data sets into excel that are CSV
or fixed-width files.  A number of the columns in these files get 'jumbled'

When I open a spreadsheet from my desktop, Excel puts a 1 after the file
name, and will only let me save it as a New File.

This is probably a basic question, but here it is anyway.
The 1st cell I want start time, 2nd cell finish time, 3rd cell will be the
difference in the first to cells in #hours # minutes, or even decimal hours.

For some reason when I invoke the macro recorder (Tools/Macro/Record a New
Macro) I do not get the accompanying tool bar with the "Stop recording"
button or the the "Relative" cell reference button.  Is there some setting
in Options that needs to be set or do I need to re-install ...
