I posted about this quite a while ago and got a solution but I've lost it
and I can't find it via google groups or anything.
I have a lot of excel files that I receive on a daily basis from a response
advertisement. They all contain about the same information and same cell

I am trying to lock or freeze a certain range of cells.  A-P / 1 - 8.
I would like users to be able to type outside of that range.
So all cells 9 and below.  and all cells Q to the right.
Is there a way of doing this?

I don't have all the info yet but before I spend any time on this is there
any known issues with Excel 2002 sp2 opening .csv files incorrectly? I have
a report of a csv file opening fine in excel 97 but the same file is not
formatted correctly when opened in Excel 2002 sp2... ...

On some cells when I mess with format I am loosing the grid on some cells.
This is not a border but just the grid outlining each cell.  I though you
turn the entire gird on or off for the spreadsheet but where does it get
modified for each cell ??
