how can i use excel data in word. any help

I am using formulas to get averages , standard deviation  and other
figurers... I want to be able to lock the cell so others cannot change my
formula but be able to change certain values to get averages  and other
information ....

I have a worksheet that contains a VBA that run a very long time
(hours). This keeps me from accessing unrelated worksheets as it seems
like Excel (even another instance) is tied up handling the first one.

I have a procedure where I scan a list of dates for a specific date and, once
