I probably didn't state that correctly, but... I'm trying to get a value written into a cell on one sheet (Sheet 1) from another sheet (Sheet 2). Easy enough to do when using '=' plus clicking on the cell whose value I want displayed.

I have a macro the does a vlookup from a different worksheet in the same workbook. It is a large file, 50,000 rows. After the vlookup is complete, I insert columns next to the results of the vlookup and the insertion causes the vlookup to re-calculate and it slows the macro
