Occasionally, I will paste from a table arrangement on a website.
Sometimes, this data will contain text that has some characteristics
of a date, eg, 3/16 as a fraction.
I could live with it becoming 0.1875, but not March 16, 2005.  How can

I have an application that writes a .SLK file for consumption by Excel.
It "works" in that Excel can open the SLK file and the
formatting/values are preserved. But Excel reports a whole series of
errors like "Cannot read record <number>".

Trying to create a monthly time sheet,
One column "H" as a fixed 8:00 using a "if" function referring to column "B"
so if a number is in "B6"  enter 8:00 in "H6" if not leave blank, this works
The problem then is column "H" will not auto sum at the bottom of the sheet?

i used subtotal with excel 2000 and everything was fine. now using exce
2003 i have some strange problems:
using the subtotals more then 2 times, the totals are not sorte
correctly and also the total isn't correct.

Hi;
1.  I've recently reviewed some articles and quite a few of threads dealing
with XL workbooks protection.  The general consensus appears to be: " ... XL
protection (using passwords) is a joke, and anyone with some knowledge of VBA
