what r the advantages and disadvantages fo both macros in excel and VBE over
each other

Hi      I am sure there is a way of keeping rows together when sorting but
can not remember how to do it.
ie   2 rows are totalled in a 3rd row, and the 2 rows are hidden, when a
sort is done they all get sorted together, thanks

After getting talked out of using Master Documents in Word (they apparently
cause a lot of problems), I am trying to set up a series of about 7
documents in Excel 2003 - syllabi for classes I teach.  Most of the contents

   I am trying to setup a worksheet that will take a 3 digit number in one
column and split it using left , right and mid functions to other columns. I
only encounter a problem if the number I want it to breakdown starts with a
0. (i.e.  068). Any ideas how to work around this ...

Would like you to tell why we must use 30 samples as a minimal number of
sample for statistical analysis.

10402.3-10251.6-150.7, the answer in excel is '-1.08002E-12'
But when using calculator, the answer is 0.

I have a cell (A1) that contains a formula which returns a sheet name
depending on some other criteria.
How do I reference that sheet name in a formula in another cell?  eg:

I have a large column of numbers. I need to make a list of all the numbers
that are in that column and how often each appears.  The result should be
three columns: original unsorted number list, list of numbers found, how
often each number is present in descending order.

Is there a way to limit the number of characters that a user can key into a

want them to be more than 35 characters.

Can anyone tell me why Excel opens a copy of the same workbook whilst
calculating (F9)?  is there any way to stop this it's freezing up Excel and
XP and it's only a 3.0 Mb file
