Is it possible for an activesheet to close after 10 minutes of
idleness?Reason is if a user forgot to close his file, it will automatically
close down.

Hi all....my question involves exporting excel spreadsheets from a Web
application and having them saving in Excel 97-2002 format.  Currently
the spreadsheets save as "Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet" and are not

I seem to always have trouble when dealing with dates in Excel.
Is it possible to have a formula the would look at the date field
and fill in the quarter in col 1? Dates 01/01/02 - 03/31/02 = Qtr1
and so forth.

I have one column of data which goes, name; address; tel; every 3 rows.
I want to split it into 3 columns (one for each field).
My first thought was to somehow use paste special, transpose - but I
cant figure out a way to do it.

In version 2003, when I click on the Mail Merge button, it opens to an
inconvenient directory.  Is there a setting anywhere to change the
location that opens up when I click this button?  Please let me know

Hello!  I am trying to set cell A5 = A1 + A2.  
The problem that I encounter is Cell A1 is all text and Cell A2 is a
Julian Date that I converted to form of 5/1/2005.  
When I try to set Cell A5 = A1+A2 I lose the Date Formatting and Cell

why is it that people use excel for a repository?
i mean-- Access was used to store data-- Excel doesn't have the basics
for storing data.
i mean-- why do people use Excel EVER?
