I am having a little bit of trouble with data validation and inserting
rows in Excel 2000 (it's fine in Excel 2003).
The data validation formula is:

I have a file which has first two pages which I can number manually. Then,
there are ten sheets of an excel worbook. Need to number the first of these
excel sheets as 3 of 12, then 4 of 12, etc. If required, these sheets

rows of numbers of varying lengths (see below).  I want to copy this column
and insert it into a column in EXCEL, but when I do this decimals are
automatically added, and some rows result in calculations.  ...

Is there a simple way to calculate in a cell the number of days *since*
a date in a different cell?
For example -

What would be the expression to get the sum of a column with a range
starting at a specified row (cell) but continuing down as far as cells
contain values.
I'm guessing its a simple one, but can't seem to come up with it.
