I'm trying to fix an Excel spreadsheet for a health care facility so that it
can sort data by the first column, whci is the patient's room number.  Room
numbers can be pure numerical, or have a suffix at the end (a or b).  So I
have e.g. room numbers 1306, 2204, 1401b, 1613, ...

I have numerical data with alphabetical prefixes in a column.
This is what I get when I sort:
C1,C10,C2,C8,R1,R10,R11,R2

Using Excel 2000.  I have a sheet that has dates of annual and bi-annual
certificates.  I would like the font color to change if the date on the
sheet is expired.  Can I set this up by column since some columns expire in
1 year and others in 2?

i upgraded to office 2003. lost ability to send excel or word file as
attachment from send to list. Do not have the option to send as
attachment.

to change these all to be in the year 2005, so '10/09/1983' becomes
