Is there any way to lower the Refresh External Data time to below 1minute?

I can't see any way to set a whole Excel book, or even a whole sheet, so
that all columns have "autofit" applied - is there a way to do it? I'm using
Excel XP/2002.

I have a non-Microsoft program that exports data into Microsoft Excel

I have it setup so after the data is exported into Excel, I insert a

I'm using Excel/Access 2003 and I can't get Excel to read an Access
table using Get External Data.  I've done it many times before but I
can't read this particular Access MDB.
I have user group security enabled on the MDB but i setup my ODBC

I posted this a few days ago and got some good responses, but nothing that's
actually accomplishing what I had hoped (maybe it really just can't be done)
The specifics are:

of number? e.g.
I have the following data in a row:
100 20 90 30

I have a cell with text in it and on my screen it appears as a series
of pound signs. I have made the cell large enough that all the text
should fit so I do not know why the pound signs will not disappear.
