Got a silly problem.  MS Excel 2003 Professional via MS partner pack
(aka Action Pack)
Start Excel as normal, no problem, clik on FILE on the menu bar and
Excel stops responding.  ALL other menu items work correctly.  I've

When I try to open excell  file through a shortcut on my desktop,
I have a +/- 15 seconds delay before the file actually opens.
If I open excel previously and open a file it does so immediately
I would appreciate help on this matter.

OK, first let me say that I am a complete idiot in the ways of Excel. That
said, I need help entering a formula. Step by step would be nice or
direction to a tutorial. ( I have used the help file to no avail). What I
want is an Excel backup to what I use in the field on a TI-86 ...

I had a question -- I have a series of lists of users based on a userid
text string and their name, some of which are duplicates. What i've
done is import the lists into excel and then do a sort by userid.
Additionally, I made a note of which database they're each in, using a

labeled "May 2006", "June 2006", "July 2006", etc
in another tab called "Summary" I want to let the user enter a date and when

Since I am an extremely type-A, retentive person, I insist in entering
codes, like area codes as text. New to Office 10, I am extremely annoyed
to perform a Data|Sort, and get messages that all three columns contain
numbers formatted as labels. Is there any way to turn that off!?

If I have a list of names (Last in one column, First in another) and fax
numbers can excel compare and update or flag the numbers that changed or
names who are not on the on the first list and also flag new names?
Excel 2000 but could use 2003.
