Is there a way for an Excel function to query a DNS server?

I'm really new to excel and this forum, so please bear with me...
What I'm looking to do, is having one "week-sheet" and one sheet for
every workday, and having each of them updated with their correspondent
dates.

Sorry for this very basic question:
what is the max capacity for data points (in cells, by row and column
of an excel spreadsheet?
any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

modify it.

i need to convert dates dd/mm/yyyy to decimal years yy.yyyy but cannot
find an example of how this can be done.  i would be grateful for

Some time back I posted to the group my frustration with complex cell
formulas.  Many in the group helped with ideas.  I'm writing this note
because I still think there must be a better way.  Below is my latest

I have an expenses sheet set up as follows:

I have a spreadsheet in Excel 2003, which has approximately 600
records (or rows).
There are a number of values for each record, such as elecment code

I have a workbook that has a load of pivot tables in it.  When I share the
workbook I can't use the pivot tables anymore.  Please would someone tell me
why, and how do I get around this.  I need to be able to share this
spreadsheet so that other users can make use of the pivot ...

I have excel 2000, and have locked some cells on sheets to safeguard my
formulas whilst others are unlocked as they have weekly figures put in up
until Sunday. On Monday, a clean sheets starts again so I have to go and
delete all the entries on all the unlocked cells.

I need to burn some files ( Word,PPTs,PDFs, etc) onto a CD.
These are referenced using hyperlinks in excel.
Is there a way to maintain the hyperlink while burning the CD, so that
the hypelinks still work while on the the CD ??

Can I get an example of a recorded macro that is useful which can't be
achieved by a copy/paste?

When I begin using EXCEL a message pops up warning that a file could not be found.  It is from a program that I had deleted and I think is no longer on my PC.  
Is there a method to check and/or a method to delete the message?
