I'm new to Excel and would greatly appreciate it if some kind soul
would point me in the right direction...
I'm trying to create a table that adds values in column1 if the
adjacent field in column2 has a boolean.

I have a spreadsheet with text in cells in one column, these vary in length
from 8 to 20 characters, and they are a mixture of numbers and alphas.

I'm having trouble searching for this, because I am not sure what to
call it.  What I have is two different solutions that will cost me
money.  One of them has a higher cost up front, but a lower monthly
cost, and the other has a lower cost up front, but higher monthly cost.

My sister who is many miles away has a problem. Her words:
Every time I save something in Excel, it puts a shortcut on my desktop. How
do I delete the shortcuts? If I say "Delete" it asks me if I want to send TG
Version xls (or whatever) to the Recycle Bin. I say "no!"
