In my attempt to fix my generic blank template for a new EXCEL file, I have made it so that, whenever I click on an EXCEL file icon, in addition to opening up the file I want, it also first opens up EXCEL with the "Book 1" blank template.

I've data validation set so that only the number 1 can be entered, but even this cannot be entered if an adjacent cell is a certain value. this works for direct entry, but not if the value is pasted in or added using the "drag handle".
