How can you tell when an excel spreadsheet is locked.

how do i stop excel from auto formatting whole numbers into decimals?
example:
input 3 --> excel would show 0.03

Is it possible to assign the sheet a name which is entered in a cell.
I know how to do this with VBA but would like to know if this is
possibile with the help of formula.
Row: A1 has name (Bill). I want that second sheet in the workbook

This is a phenomenonally simple task:
All I want is the formula "=SUM(B38:F38)" result to display on my
spreadsheet.  Excel shows $0.00 in the cell.  The formula result, however, is
'$9288.72.'  I am so frustrated!!!

I need a formula that will change the displayed color of a value based on
