I need to write a program to open and update a bunch of excel documents.
problem is, that some are password protected.
and if i hit them, then the user password dialog opens.
is there a way to tell if a document is password protected?  an open

I wrote this function, the logics seem to ok, but there are too many logic,
as I the result I think I mess up the syntax.  Can anyone correct for me?

I have a spreadsheet that is displaying values to the nearest 2 decimal
places.  I'm dealing with money, so this is ideal.  However, when I total
them, I'm getting a total that's a penny off since it's computing on the
entire value, not just the 2 decimal places that's displaying ...

I am looking at a quick way to convert a column of numbers to text... Any
ideas?

I have a .csv file with following data
No,Name

0002,ww

I am wanting to capture a certain letter in a string of letters say a name.
I would like to say have a name entered in cell A1.
From there I would like to capture the first letter in cell B1.
In cell C1 I would like to capture the 3rd letter.

I'm trying to sort upon a given column and I get the error message stating
that "Merged cells must be of the same size."
I know what merged cells are, but the problem is, I cannot find ANY cells in
the column in which I am sorting that are merged.  So does this rule apply to

Is it possible in Excel XP to add a picture that'll appear behind the cell
contents?  If so, how do I do it?  I tried just the regular
Insert...Picture, but the picture always seems to appear above the cell

In this Excelsheet I have disabled the Windows Options <Row & column headers>.
The Excelsheet I have simply saved as an <Excel Workbook>.

In Excel 2003 I could open four worksheets and save them in the same space
and alignment as a WorkSpace file. Can I still do that and how? I could not

At the office we use Lotus Notes 6.5.
In this database we have instructions with excel files attached to
them.
When we open them, the title is generated by Lotus Notes i guess.

Is it possible to send arguments to an auto open macro? I have a wscript
open excel with the ability to send an argument and I want the argument to
be passed to the macro.
