I have solved this so it is just my curiosity at play here.
Using someone else's sheet, I entered a formula (=D235/80) into a cell
expecting a numeric result not realizing that the cell was formatted as Text

I can open an existing excel file with no problem.  However, if I try to
open another excel file while that first is still open, the first excel file
ends up "pasting" some type of link to the file I tried to open into a cell.

We change a date in one cell and all the other cells in sheet get
unrecognizable.  The cell we change has this formula =SUM(U14+28) and when we
change the 28 to a 42 the reset of the cells go to this symbol...#NAME?

So, I've been revising an Excel document. Now, I am unable to select any text
boxes to delete them. I'm also unable to insert a new text box - that option
