I'm running Excel XP, and all of a sudden my workbook uses manual calc.  I
go Tools --> options --> calculations and set it to Automatic.  Next time I
open the workbook, its back to Manual
What am I doing wrong ???

How can I get excel to look up a column, copy the data over to another
worksheet, deleting all the duplicate names. So I have a nice list of

Ok, I have this sheet that has 700 cells which includes name, last name of

I've just built a whisker & box chart by using the x-y scatterplot
chart-type and connecting the plotted variables.
The boxes are stacked vertically so I've put my legend to the right of the
chart area.  However, the legend is in the opposite order to the boxes.

I was under the impression that if one used the "$" in a cell reference,
that would mean that whether or not columns and/or rows are inserted, the
reference would remain at the ORIGINAL spot.  So, for instance, if I put in
