Has anyone figured out the trick to keep a spreadsheet from "growing"
in size as pivot tables are added (and based on the SAME dataset)?  If
my kids grew at the rate that my spreadsheets are growing, I'd have to
sell them for medical experiments!  

I've got a bunch of cells set up to be the sum of 2 specific cells. The
formula I'm using is ($G$216+$G$3617) for example. I now need to duplicate
this in column I so my new formula should be ($I$216+$I$3617) but when I cut
and paste from G to I, the formula is still referencing ...

I know you can hyperlink to an image, but is there a way to change the
software that opens the image.?

I could have sworn they did in others that I've used where the workbook is
shared.  Is there anything I should be looking at?
I fully understand that we can't view or edit them when they're shared, but

I have a text file that I exported from a database. Field values are
enclosed in double quotes and fields are comma separated. Some fields
are multi-line fields - several lines long.

G'day guys,
I have a user who needs to number the pages of her excel document in
accordance with a bigger document. I know how to add simple page numbers, but
unlike Word you can't select which number they start at.

I've got a spreadsheet of 100's of part numbers and each is 9 characters
long.  The 8th character in most of them is a 3 but I want to change them
all to a 5, is there an easy way to do that?  I can't do a simple Replace as
3 may be used more than once in the part number - I just ...

Not sure this is the correct place to raise this question but here goes. I
have an excel file on a network drive. When I try to access it and someone
else is using it I get a message telling me the ID of who has the file open

When I do a subtotal, I would like that the values that I sum stay
bold like the inicial data.
How can I do this?
