In Excel 2007 I have somehow turned on Page Layout View as my default view so that every time I open Excel or create a new workbook it is displayed in Page Layout View. I want it to open in Normal View by default.

Simple thing, I'm sure, but I am stumped. If there is a value in cell H2, I want cell A2 to be light green; otherwise there should be no change to the background color. How can this be formulated?

We have just started receiving Excel files from others that were created using a MS Vista version of Excel. The file extension is XLS. When we try to open the files using our XP version of Excel, the program crashes.

Need to get an Excel AddIn compiled for my son so he can support his thesis. I can get it to compile in VB 2005 Express, but I cannot get it to generate a .xla file, I just get a binary (dll?) formatted file and a blank setup script.

I created an Excel spreadsheet with no use of predefined chart formats or any other automatic formatting. When I enter new data, I want the background of the new cells to remain unfilled. After I've done some other work, I go back and change the color to indicate to myself that

OK Hopefully this will work. Here is the spreadsheet. The "index is at the top of sheet 1 and I would like to move it to sheet 2. Hope this works and I appreciate your help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps this topic has been discussed before but ... There is a mysterious, spooky menu in the CommandBars.ActiveMenuBar on position 8: the menu Action. ;-) Why? What is it to be used for? Why can't I make it visible?

My spreadsheet has a couple of date columns. Some of the rows would have no date in it. However, after running the macros - which uses these cell value as "blank", the date of "1/1/1900" appearred in those blank cells and I could not make it disappear.

Here is a weird one. One of my users has Office 2003, SP3. In Excel (just in a blank spreadsheet or even an existing one) if she changes the shading of a cell she'll only see that new shading in the print preview. In the normal spreadsheet view the cell still is shaded white. ...

I wonder if someone here could help? I have a spreadsheet where I want to change the font colour of a cell depending on the content to the cell to its immediate left - but only if the cell to the left isn't blank.
