I have a table that lists articles published over a month.
I have two (relevant) columns:
Column A (Pulications)
Cell in Excel 2003 shows #REF!, but fine with Excel 200208 Oct 2007 10:46 GMT2
my colleagues are having some problems with a file created by a Excel 2002,
cells appears fine on it. But some cell displays #REF! when opening it with
Excel 2003. Is there a compatibility issue?

I often work with a spreadsheet in which two of the columns are labelled
Start Date and End Date respectively.  The spreadsheet has about 3000 rows
of data and is replaced with a new spreadsheet every fortnight.
My problem is that when I try to sort the rows by one of these "date" ...

It lists many columns and cells.

I am using Excel 2003 and would like to avoid using VBA code if possible.
I have two columns (A & B) with 12 cells used, and a cell further down (C22)
where the sum of Column B is added up.
What I need to do is have Column A have either Yes Or No (I know I can do

OK - So I have text in A1
Then column A is blank down to A(x) (x being and possible number.
Then I have different text in the next row in A. A(x+1).
This happens repeatedly through out about 50,000 records (that rules out

I got some advice before but I am still having problems sorting dates. Using
Excel 2003. I have a file of about 1000 records over a time span of 1750 to
1921.
When I sort by what I think is the date the order result is as follows...
