Getting date stored as text into real date?17 Dec 2007 17:35 GMT3
A database query program outputs everything as a text string.  One of
the fields is a date, formatted as yyyymmdd.  Is there a worksheet
function that will change this to an Excel-recognized date?  Or a
macro?  The error checking doesn't flag this.

When I start Excel 2007 a couple of files load at startup (Common
Macros.xlsm and Personal.xlsb) both of which contain macros.  Everything has
been working fine for quite a long time but today I get "Compile error in
hidden module: This Workbook".

I have a decription in column I like "S/back 2.0 TDI SE DSG  " and in
column Q I have the formula FIND("DSG",$I2).
Looks simple enough to me but it isnt bringing the result I want! Just

I have a spreadsheet with 7 columns (named Bird, Cow, Horse, Rabbit, Pig,
Cat, Dog) and 23 rows that have either yes or no in each cell - mainly no's.

information is text with numbers (the text can be of varying length), for
