Column 1 contains a list of dates in format DD/MM/YYYY I want to manipulate this data such that another column shows MM-YY based on data in column 1. The change from slashes to hyphen separation is required.

I realise that this has come up on this group before but I couldn't find an answer for it. On my computer, selected cells in Excel 2007 are not shaded at all - I'm not saying the shading is faint, there is literally no shading. See this picture as an example:
