I have a work book with 25 work sheets. Sheet 1 contains the rate for
my formulas. Sheet 2 ( the working sheet) uses the formula from sheet
one to cost my products. In some instances there are more that 40
products that use the same rate formula. (each product requires a

I create a Name as Test = {"A" , "B"} (not a range but a list of datas)
by the menu 'Insert" / "Name" / "define"
Then i cant'use that name "Test" in the Data validation Combo box
by the menu "Datas" / "Validation" / "Option" / "Autorize" (List)

Its a minor point but one that is bugging me.
My excel 2000 has stopped displaying the sum of cells which I select with my
mouse and has instead started displaying the count - does anyone know how to

If you have numbers in a range say B4:B7 and the last row is blank, should
the function read =SUM(B4:B8) to include the blank row or ius it ok to leave
it at =SUM(B4:B7). A colleague who works in this area insists it is good

I am trying to remove a digit and replace it with another digit.
I.E.: A1 has '2001' in the cell... I want to change that to '9001'.

I usually just do a control+A and hit delete but this does not remove any
formatting (font, background, borders, alignment).
Is there any quick way to do that (short of deleting the sheet)
