help!! a user has an acer laptop. Wen he inputs 12.07 or similar in an unformatted cell, the cell converts the input into date format rather than retain the 12.07 (seems to use the point as a /). I cannot find anything in the setup

an excel spreadsheet is formatted to fit data into a printed form. the file is kept on a network server and accessed by multiple HP vli8 pc's running win2k and office xp. each pc prints to a shared lexmark optra t612 laser.

I have Office 2000 Premium installed on a computer running Windows 98. Out of nowhere, Excel stopped working. If I try to open a file from Explorer, it locks up the computer. If I try to open Excel directly, it locks up
