We have just installed Office 2000 on a new laptop with
XP pro. The problem is that when we try to import ASCII
text (CSV) into Excel, this doesn't work. The same rutine

How do I open a dataset that is over the 65,000+ limit?  
So far, it just appears to cut off the dataset rather
than opening several worksheets to fit the entire dataset.

Help...I open a xls by way of shorcut on desktop...I open
another xls by way of shortcut on desktop.  Now on
taskbar i have two open xls programs.  However closing
one with a red X (in corner) closes BOTH applications.

My excel did work fine before.  Now when I start the
program it takes a couple of minutes for it to start.  
After it starts when I shut it down the rest of my office

workbook appears.
I know that there is a way to keep that from appearing,

when I open up excel or word documents I get a message:
requesting virus scan...  And it takes about 5 seconds

Excel 2000 Professional or greater...
Instead of doing a macro or manually selecting a
row/column, is there a way to highlight, say, every other
column or row on a sheet automatically?

If with a column of figures 1.01, 1.02, 1.03 ... I drag &
copy down all appears OK, but after a variable number of
rows the figures are slightly corrupted, eg: 3.44, 3.45,
3.45999999999, 3.46999999999 ....

I have a list of 60 items that change slightly on a weekly basis. Currently
I highlight(color code) the five with the largest weekly increases. I do
this with the following conditional format formula.
