Thanks Gord for the tip. But tools-Options-General-- Uncheck "ignore other applications" doesn't have any effect. Excel still opens separate programs for each file. Are there any registry changes I can use?

When I open Excell (2002) I get a small dialog box that says: Compile error in hidden module: AutoExecNew When I click OK on the box, the worksheet opens and appears to behave normally.

I have Office 97 CD from my old computer and I installed Excel, word and publisher from it to my new computer runing windows xp pro. After I installed the programs without problems i tried to open them but didn't work.
