When opening a shared file, how do you control the cell
location of the active cell when the file is opened? For
some users the file opens with the active cell near the
begining of the worksheet.  For other users the file opens

I go to file->page setup->Select orientation->
change portrait to landscape. But it doesn't
work. I still got portrait format.
I use Office 2k Excel.

We have a problem with missing items in the Excel 2000

I had been using Corel Quattro Pro 8, and recently
installed Excel 2002.  I open an Excel file (*.xls) from,
for example, My Computer without first opening Excel, the
file opens in Quattro Pro.  How can I get the file to open

I need to enter a number that starts with zero but Excel
keeps omitting it. How can I get it to leave it alone,
and later on I have will link this table in Access but I
need it to be recognized as a number when it gets there.

I am using Excel 2000 and everytime I am opening a
different workbook it opens up in the same window.  I
would like to be able to open 2 separate workbooks and

i can log on my sys. under my kids names and use word,Excel
frontpage,publisher,powerpoint & access. if i try to sing
on under my name all the above will not work. the message
i get is microsoft is not installed for current user.

In Excel 20003 , how do you set the default file , when
you do file open  ?

My excel columns appear as numbers, no longer A, B, C ,D
etc. but 1,2 3,4.
This appears since I installed Palm desktop software, I
suspect a macro has changed the appearance of Excel.

I am attempting to use the following statement into cell B1 =IF(OR(A1=H, SD, V),10, A1+A2)
My goal is to get the value 10 to appear in B1 if The either of the letters H, SD, or V are typed in B1.  If nothing is typed in B1 I would like to return the value of the calculation A1+A2. ...

I would like to always have the active cell stand out by
making it have a different background color.  Can this be
accomplished?
