Is it possible to apply conditional formatting to a cell which is NOT the cell being modified? For example, if I enter a 5 in cell A1, can Excel change the background color of cell B1 to yellow?

Control Home brings the cursor to Cell A1. Fine. But why Control End takes the cursor to a distant cell, where there is no data at all, other than selecting the end of the table or the current region? Can anyone say the reason and how to prevent it.
