Is it a way to make a formula containing a relative cell reference that e.g.
change one step when copying cell 2 steps.

Not sure if this is possible... I have applied conditional formatting to a
cell in a row of information, to fill with colour on input of a specific
answer from a drop down.
Can I make the whole row change to the same colour along with the cell on

I've been trying to use the 'Mode' formula function on a spreadsheet.  Its
coming up with an error, and I checked it out in Excel Help.  Its says (under
'Remarks', that "If the data set contains no duplicate data points, the
formula I used was =MODE(I2:I19) and this returns the ...

I've got a bit of a strange one here, I'm still investigating but thought I
might post in case anyone has any ideas.
We have a quite complex spreadsheet (Excel 2003) where the speed of
calculations had started to become an issue.

Suppose Cell A1 = x, then I want to color B1 black
& when Cell A1 = y, then I want to color B1 blue

column A                   column B
      123                            788
if column A = blank, b=blank
if column A= non blank, b=blank =  error

I have a column of cells with dates in, is it possible for the individual
cells to change colour once that date has passed, to highlight them to me?

I have a macro that runs to insert rows when a button is clicked in my
sheet.  This works fine when the sheet is unprotected but not when the sheet
is protected.  Is there a way to protect certain cells in my sheet but have
it unprotected so my macro works?

If I am opening an .xls file using code (VBA), how can I disable the macro's
from running on it programmatically? I tried  ".AutomationSecurity =
msoAutomationSecurityForceDisable"  but this kills my macro in the middle of
itself running as well?
