I have checked many links to date formatting but can't find a solution. I must be missing the point somewhere as I don't believe my question below can be undocumented. How do I format dates so I just enter numbers without any formating?

In a 60 degree right triangle, x-axis = 1 and y-axis = Sqrt(3). In degree mode, Tan(60) = Sqrt(3). In radian mode, Tan(60 x Pi / 180) = Sqrt(3) 60 x Pi / 180 is the arc length between 60 degree angle.

Why can't I treat the result of the LEFT function as a number (if taken from a string of numbers) and not as a string? I tried format cells but to no avail. Thanks,

On my PC at home, when I strike the "end" key then the down arrow key, the cursor goes to the last cell with data in that column (Excel 2000) On my work PC key the cursor goes to cell O47. (Excel 2003) How do I get my work PC to behave like my home PC?
