can you make the cursor move to the next cell automaticlly after information

I have a problem which seems to be specific to certain areas of spreadsheets
where the cursor will highlight a group of cells instead of just one when I
click on a single cell.  I don't know how I made it happen nor how I can get
it to stop.

im updating my database and there are several columns that have drop down
boxes and i use the auto filter a lot to sort the data so when its all sorted
it throws the sources/info in the drop down boxes out, so nothin appears how

I copy data from other spreadsheets. If it look slike an address Excel makes
it a hyper link. I have to remove them one by one - then they come back when
I copy data from that cell. How can I stop this for good without downgrading
to an older version?
