Why does the attachments arrive to the email receiver asa  dat file?  Any
help would be appreciated.

I've been sending automatic emails from access 2003 fro about a year now.

The Outlook assistance tells you to change the format of your outgoing emails
to HTML or Plan Text in order to avoid the attachments to be changed to
winmail.dat.
I just did that, but the recipients still receive winmail.dat attachments.
