I wish MS would eliminate the winmail.dat file methodology in Outlook. When I send attachments to people with AOL, Macs, Outlook Express or anything other than Outlook, they always say they can't open my winmail.dat file. Then I have to resend as plain text or tell them about the ...

When I forward an e-mail message with an attachment, some of the receipients will get a winmail.dat (or similar) attachment instead of the original attachment. I have tried to change the format from RTF to html or plain text with no success.

All my attachments in pdf format are sent out as winmail.dat files. Outlook 2007 is not usable if you want to send out pdf attachments. Any ideas where the bug is? I use the latest release issued on Sept 15.

Most of my file attachment sent through outlook 2000, irrespective of their fomat are being received by other party as winmail.dat file. If the receipient receives the file in yahoo mail and he saves the files in his disk and it is saving as original format as was sent, but when ...

Everyone receives our emails with an attachment that is labeled "winmail.dat" even when we are not attaching any documents. Can we get rid of this winmail.dat attachment? Thank you for your attention to this matter.

My paystubs from work are sent to me in PDF format. I have always received them before I switched to outlook. However now I am receiving a blank page. Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing to properly download these documents?

Does someone know how to change the preferences for this window? I use it ALL the time and CHANGE the columns widths and window size EVERY time. Isn't a computer supposed to track and learn this kind of thing or at least allow you to reset it to your liking?

It would be such a relief if we can apply a standard signature template via Group Policy. Can such a thing be done so that it references AD properties like name, phone number, and title?
