hello i wonder if anyone can help having problems my outlook express will not

I have been using Outlook for several years.  Not until yesterday (10/18/07)
did I experience the following problem.  In connection with sending an email
I received the following error message
Task 'mail.**********.com [my address deleted]- Sending' reported error

All the messages in my Inbox have disappeared - read and unread.  If a
message comes into the Inbox and I don't read it immediately, it disappears.  
The messages are not in my deleted box or any other box.  Several people have
told me they sent messages to me this morning, but ...

I have email on our company exchange 2003 server where *somehow* my outbox
ended up as a subfolder to another folder in my mailbox. Outlook or webmail
