I'm preparing a parallel edition of two texts, one table column for each
text.  The drop caps menu option is grayed-out when I'm in the table,
and the columns menu option is grayed-out when I'm in the footnotes!
How can I get this formatting to work?

I'm using Office 2003.
Is there a way to disable the Getting Started menu so that it does not
appear upon an Office program's startup--particularly Word 2003?  If

I compose a dated letter or memo letter.  If I open it again say a week
later, the date changes to the current date.  This makes it difficult to
print all these at a later time, but still have the date on which they were

I am a WordPefect "expert" so this Word stuff is really throwing me.
I am making a form. In WP I use merge for the fields, using GetString and Variable for placing the elements of information that i want throughout the document.

Using Word X on a powerbook, OSX.3 (Panther).
I cannot seem to get the text to display without very odd spacing

received two articles for the newsletter via emails that
were typed in microsoft word.  Is their any way to
transfer the articles from word to my newletter in works?

Everytime I close Microsoft Word I get a message" The File Normal already
exists " Tried to delete  a File called Normal but it always comes back?

I have designed a flow chart using "Autoshapes". I can insert text in the various boxes but cannot find a way of adding next above the various decision arrows that link the boxes. Can anyone help?

I write many letters and save copies in a folder.
When I get an answer from a letter, I go to the document and create a large
text box right on top of the text in the letter and put the message
"Received Reply [Date]" in the text box in red letters.

I'd like to enter the "Author" info once in the Word doc properties and have
it appear by default in all future Word docs.
How can this be accomplished?
