Can anyone tell me how to use a "hard space" in Word - I know in
WordPerfect, if you used "Control + Spacebar", you could insert a hard
space.  This would allow a group of words to be shown on the word count as
one instead of a few separate words.  Can anyone advise how to do this ...

I am using Word 2002 and a couple of days ago Word started exhibiting an
annoying behaviour which I have detailed in the subject. Basically I used to
be able to select text via the cursor, click the nice large backspace key

The "Contemporary Fax" template canned with Word 2003 includes what looks

Until janury 2004 I used a betaversion of Office 2003. When its working
period expired I switched back to my Office XP, but among other problems
(Outlook pst files from 2003 version could not open i Outlook XP) I could
not use Word in normal mode.

I copied the normal.dot from another pc to mine.  Placed it in the default
location of c:\documents and settings\username\application
data\microsoft\templates.
However, none of the autocorrect options that were on the other pc work on
