When I am typing in Word and I type an open quote it does not appear. If I type a vowel after the quote, the vowel gets replaced with a letter with two dots over it( ä, ë, ï, ö, or ü). At the end of a word, if I type a close

Is it safe for Word 2003 users to replace "10.0" in mvps.org documentation (registry/files) with "11.0" values? The http://word.mvps.org docs typically show registry/file locations for Word 97, Word 2000, and Word 2002. i.e.

My granddaughter visited and now all documents come up with dots between letters, paragraph symbols all through document, etc. How do i reset Word (2000) back to the way it came from the factory? Thanks

I would like the "getting started" pane to NOT show up when I launch word. I have unchecked the "startup task pane" in the options dialog but the damn thing still shows up every time! I've restarted the computer and Word to no avail. Help!

I am editing a large file and it seems that there has been a hard carriage return at the end of each line (the person has hit enter at the end of each line). Is there a way to delete the enter command throughout the document instead of deleting it on a line by line basis?

Is there any way to have Word open a document with the cursor in the same location it was when the document was closed? I'd like to open with the cursor at the end instead of at the beginning of the document. Thanks!
