Friends, a dotted line has appeared in my text. It acts kind of like a graphic, but I can't select it or delete it. I think it was inserted when I entered several periods in succession on a line. I can see this would be useful sometimes, but I don't want it now. How can I delete it?

Whenever I type a few dashes, equals, hashes, etc, Word automatically changes them into lines of various thicknesses and styles. How can I stop it doing this ? I have tried changing the AutoFormat option to replace symbol characters with symbols, but this doesn't make

I have a new system (Windows Me) and I just loaded Office 2000. When I enter two hyphens after a word, they do not change into a dash. In the option: Tools\Auto Correct\Autoformat as you type\

When I open a Word document from the yellow folder in a Word window, it comes up in a 10 font with all kinds of history at the end of it. When I open it from Explore, it comes out OK. What is the solution to this nonsense?

I have tried & tried to alphabetize a customer mailing list for m neighbor in Microsoft Word. She has everything typed with First Nam then Last Name. Could that be the problem? I've tried clicking o Table, then A to Z sort but it just messes things up even more. Thank
