I am inserting a lengthy external document into a report I'm printing with MS word. I have page numbering throughout, and a comprehensive table of contents. I don't want to insert tons of blank pages, though, to take the place of the external doc, though.

New user...obviously I typed up some documents and saved them onto a cd(this was on my father's computer) I tried to open the files on MY computer, but it's all boxes and other types of symbols(somebody said ANSI...who knows?) How can i convert the documents back into a regular text ...

Using Word 2002 on XP. When I have one Word document open and click on the smaller close window box, I would expect that document to close and Word stay open with no document open. Instead, Word closes out entirely. Why? How do I stop this?
