Is there a way to slow down the scroll speed in Word 2003?

Everytime I open up Microsoft Word, a "Getting Started" window on the right
right side panel starts with the program. How can I hide this window and keep

MS Word drives me crazy rendering all email addresses and websites

Every time I opened the word documents, it will start at the end of
document instead of the beginning.  It also happens with my outlook
2003.  What did I do wrong to make this happern?  How can I set it back
to start the document at the beginning?
