RTF files sometimes have many "control words" hidden inside the text. Even
though no one sees them while opening the doc in Word, when
exporting/importing to other programs they can be cumbersome. Is there
anyway to get rid of those (selected/all) "control words?"

I need some help generating a table of contents. I have an application
that generate reports, and add styles to my document. All the document
is formated with this styles, but I can't add this styles to table of
contents options in order to put them in a table of contents and define

I have a Word Document that contains fields and it also has a table or two.
The document is only one page.  The problem is when this document is printed
it sometimes only prints half the document.
We have ruled out the printer, this happens on more than one printer.  The

i have downloaded an image from microsoft, and put it in my word document,
but when i try to print, only the text is printed. it does'nt show in the
print preview, either.  i have set the clip art underneath my text, as a
background.  Can anyone help?

I have a legal landscape page on which I have placed about 30 text boxes (the
bosses insist it be put in Word and not Powerpoint!).  After I get them all
in place (after much dancing around on their part) and start to draw the
connector lines, they AGAIN start jumping all around ...

Is there a way to password protect a group of Word document files at
once? Doing one by one with save as and its password options is a pain.
This is with Word 2000 SP3 (all updates) in Windows 98 SE.

I am VERY new to MS WORD and am struggling a bit with a few things, one
being page layout.
I have chosen to work on a LANDSCAPE layout with 2 pages per A4-sheet.
What I want is to have the top and bottom margins of all the pages set

dose ne one know how to make text not print i don't want to have the text
hidden i want to be able to see it i just don't want the text to print.

When I put web links in my word document, I see the web
address in the document instead of the name of the site.
Thus, I'll have take a look at Fred's web page, and have a
link on Fred's, but instead of seeing Fred's, I'll see

I have a problem with my work computer - XP, Word 2002
I did something the other day that hasn't corrected itself
after I reboot.  My mouse slipped (literally) and I didn't
