how do i turn my page landscape???

My old W98 PC, dating from around '98 used a '97 version of Word.
Never any problems, worked quite well.
Now I just bought a new PC, running XP, and the version of Word
that came with it is driving me crazy.

Could someone advise me how to place gothic characters into word documents.
I am writing in English, I just want to use some gothic symbols as
mathematical characters in the document.  The charcters I am looking for
aren't available in 'Microsoft Equation 3.0'.

my background isnt printing as it is shown in the print preview it is much
smaller and un readable

I don't know how to type fractions such as 1/2 or 3/4 that take only one
space insteaad of three.

Word 2003. Can't get spell check to work. Have tried switching on in tools
options > spelling/grammar. Still doesn't work.

I don't get visible lines when I draw rectanlges in
Word.  When I release mouse button object is visible with
green rotate handle.  Oval Ok.  Don't do a lot of drawing
so don't know if its SP related or not.

what do i do on outlook give an example

In outline view only, there are black wavy lines under part of a sentence or
at the end of a line.  They dissappear in normal view.  What are these and
How do I turn them off?  Thanks.

I'm noticing the spacing between some letters in my documents is not really
evenly balanced.
I do not recall seeing this in Word 97. I'm now using 2000.
Any suggestions much appreciated.

I have a template, In a "text box" on the right is the note 'special
instructions'. I want a drop down list to appear when the template is first
opened, so the author can select the appropriate instruction from the list
for insertion into the document.

I'm creating an electronic form, with several date entries.  I would like
to have an embedded calendar to select and fill in the date entries.  I
would appreciate any help!

I cannot access MS Office templates when using Word 20003. Going to
tools/templates and add-ins there is nothing. Doing a search I can locate
them but how can I access from Word.

Where do I go to download Equaton 3.0?  It did not install when I installed
Word 2003?

In Excel, I can say I want the first row (my column headins/titles) to print
at the top of every page. I have a 20 page table in a Word doc and I want it
to do the same thing. is that possible in Word?
