Does anyone know how to create a new Style in Word that automatically makes the first character in the paragraph bold and larger than the regular font? I've seen a lot of books do this effect and I'd like to duplicate it.

This the third time I've posted this problem, and as yet no one's come up with a solution! I recently opened a document in Word 2002. Everything was fine, except when I pressed the enter key nothing happened.

I just created a footnote in Word 2003 and unfortunately there is now a large 5-inch blank space between the text of the footnote and the 2-inch line that separates the footnotes from the body of the text. I'm baffled by this.
