Using Word2003.  I am working on a document created by someone else and they
inserted headers and footers.  I can remove the text inside them but not the
placeholders for the headers and footers themselves - I can't even select
them when I use View, Headers & Footers.

How can I count the number of times a particular word appears in my
document?

I have a co-worker using Word 2000 SP2 on a Windows 2000 machine.
When he attempts to spell check a document, it comes up and states that a
spell check is complete, it will not find errors that are deliberately made.
On top of this under the Tools/Options the Language options is ...

I can't find a sticker on my computer with the Microsoft Word product ID
number. Can I locate it somewhere else?

I have a problem that's recurring in clockwork reliability:
I scanned 4 full page images with HP OfficeJet. (150 DPI 24 bit)

How can I make the date field update every time I open a document?
The help menu says check "Automatically Update" in the Insert Date dialogue
box, but that doesn't seem to work for opening the document, (perhaps only
printing it?)

Why do I sometimes get the "move handle" on a table and other times I do
not?

Currently I am using MS 97 Office Suite.  Now I am thinking to buy Office
2003 Upgrade version.
My question is whether I should uninstall MS 97 Office Suite prior to
installing office 2003 Upgrade.

I've recently been unable to import graphic images using the clipboard in
anything but the iconic placeholder - which isn't very useful in formatting
a document. I'm sure there must be a setting to allow the display of the
complete graphic.

The footnote reference in the text reads "(1)"..then at the end of the page

On opening a new doc, the cursor starts out in the header.  I have yet
figured out how to get it down into the body of the doc when a new doc is
selected.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I have a listing of my DVD collection in word (2000), but when I click on
TABLE, A-Z SORT it does not sort the items correctly. For instance, here is
the correct alphabetical sorting sequence for the sample titles below:
