I seem to have inadvertently switched on the horizontal and vertical pop-up
rulers.  The only sign of this is that two narrow strips have suddenly
appeared at the left-hand and top edges of the editing screen (in Print
Layout): I didn't realise what they were until I chanced to ...

Smart tags seem to keep popping up for no apparent reason that I can see.
Presumably there is something somewhere telling them to do this, but can I
turn them off globally, as I do not want them?

When I attempt to double click on a Word file to open it from a directory on
the computer  I get a message "dialog box is open click here to close". If I
first open Word and then search for the Word document file and open that the
same file I do not get the message.  I do not get ...

I saved my word document as "Document Template" and then accidentally deleted
it.  When I went into Recycle Bin to retrieve it, it wasn't there.  
Does anyone know if there is a way I can get this back?????

User has 135 page document she's been working on for over a year with a TOC
at the beginning.  These entries have been tweaked to no end; I suspect the
document may well be corrupted by now.

When switching between word documents they suddenly close.  
When I open any two or more Microsoft word save document, or when I am
working with two or more word documents, the entire documents close all at
once when minimizing and reopen the documents loosing any information that ...

When I do Tools / Language and select a language and click on the Default
button to have this language as the default for new documents this setting
does not stick.
Every time I run word and create a new document it is created in my Windows

using Word 97..
when I left click and hold then more cursor down to the bottom of page to
continue highlighting text, the page(s) scroll very fast, can not stop
scroll, sometimes goes all the way to the end of the document..

I have a table, and I have wrote some texts in it.
I insert a picture ( whatever format ) inside the table, that picture
always can not be shown correctly; it seems only show part of that (
bottom )
