How do you change the default startup document. I have tried opening a blank document, setting the font, margins, layout etc. the way I want and then saving as Doc1.dot and Document1.dot in the STARTUP folder, but no go with either.

I see from earlier messages that I am not the only one having a problem with the date being automatically entered after just a few keystrokes that are supposed to get the whole auto date started. Is anyone aware of when a fix for this is due to come out??

Ok I recently upgraded to Word 07 from Word 03. I don't really like the layout of it, for example the buttons and the tabs. Is there anyway I can keep Word 07 and make it "Look" like Word 03, with the classic menu drop down boxes?

I tables in my CV and some formatting warnings (green line underneath). How can I save my document so that these lines never appear (even for those receiving the doc) and show the msword doc without the table borders (which dont appear in the pronted version of the document).

If you make the mistake of using Outline view to create a list, or if you somehow end up with an outline you want to print, you will find that the result of printing an outline is a useless, unformatted list of headings, line after line with no indentations.

Usually I change these margins from the "page setup" area. I can change the left/right margins this way, but the top/bottom margins have disappeared

How can a single word (under the cursor) being selected in MS Word (2000 or 2003)? Just the same as the double-click with the mouse does. I can't seem to find any reference in any help file or documentation.

My partner is a researcher and, as such copies and pastes information from the web into word. 1) Sometimes on pasting into Word the spaces between words are very long (more like using long tabs). Presumably this is a formatting thing.
