Can someone tell me why Word and Excel documents saved to my desktop are
showing up on the address bar of Internet Explorer 6?

I am living in Kenya and English is my main language.  But I'd like to
be able to write in Kiswahili and have Word spellcheck it.  So I go to
"Set Language" under the Tools -> Language menu and select Kiswahili.
But it doesn't do any spellchecking now.  I can write any word (e.g.

I've created a graphic in my graphics program (Fireworks) and the resolution
looks great.  When I open up my Word document (v2003) and insert the
picture, my image instantaneously looks blurry and pixelated - looks like
I'm losing about 20% quality and I don't understand why.

Just installed a trial version, opened Word and can't type any single
charachter. It keeps showing message at the bottom 'The modification is not
allowed because the section is locked'. What section? What locked? It's a

I have some Afrikaans documents with the hyphenation on, but the words don't
get hyphenated, I have set the language to default to Dutch, Afrikaans and
English, the words somehow don't get hyphenated.

Horror of horrors but I'm still getting this offensive notice when I

I keep a daily diary and find it time consuming to write the date.  So far I
have written dates for the whole month ahead but it takes a lot of time.  
Also I have an automatic date feature set but I don't like the format.  All
